The very popular Ps Portable game device is just about the latest target of malicious software authors, using the discovery of the "Trojan viruses equine" program that renders the machines inoperable.

PSP is specifically made to run only approved programs and games but unsanctioned codes or patches obtainable to bypass these limitations.The recently discovered malicious software, or "adware and spyware", poses as just this kind of illicit patch. However ,, once installed, it removes four critical system files, rendering the infected device useless.
Scientists at anti-virus firm Symantec the Trojan viruses, named Trojan viruses.PSPBrick, was discovered circulating on gaming internet sites a week ago.

PSP customers who unknowingly do the installation might find the content "Your PSP 2. is compromised, please reboot" pop on the screen of the console. However, efforts to restart the gadget will probably finish in frustration.
"It is a really nasty trick," states Mikko Hyppönen, director of anti-virus research at Finnish company F-Secure. He thinks there's not a way to treat an infected machine if you don't take it for pricey repairs. "A hacker as destructive because this clearly is not thinking straight."
